Project BG3: Web Services

Web services allow the BG3 application to integrate with other systems over the internet.

Wholesalers

For stock ordering, unlike some other veterinary practice management systems BG3 supports multiple active suppliers. This allows you to maintain a current price list for each supplier, and select the cheapest supplier (subject to the practice holding an account with that supplier).

The order process can then be completed using your broadband internet connection greatly increasing the reliability and the speed of your order placement over the dial-up ordering often used by other systems. The broadband connection can also be used to download the latest prices from the suppliers in addition to batch numbers for the practices that have set up that facility with their supplier.

Online ordering is currently available with Centaur, Dunlops and NVS.

BCMS - Cattle Tracing System

Integration with the BCMS Cattle Tracing System via the CTS Web Services is currently under development. For more information on the Cattle Tracing System, please visit the BCMS website.

Credit & Debit Card Processing

The BG3 application also supports online processing of credit and debit cards. This allows payment to be taken and authorised over the internet subject to the practice having a suitable merchant account with their bank.

Supported payment processors include Protx and SECPay. Support for Google Checkout is under investigation.
